A Day of Joy and Wonder at Hope Children’s Orphanage
Renowned artist Graham Cullis, alongside a dedicated group of close friends, embarked on a heart-warming mission to bring joy and wonder to the children of Hope Children’s Orphanage.
A World of Creative Exploration
This special day unfolded as a series of art activities that left the children beaming with delight.
From bead making to clay sculptures, acrylic painting, drawing, and mural creation, the children were immersed in a world of creativity. Graham’s commitment to the event even saw a yoga instructor and a violin player joining in, offering the children a fun and unique musical and physical experience, complete with animal shapes and postures.
The Grand Finale: Graham’s “Splatter Art” Extravaganza
However, the crescendo of the day came with Graham’s famous “splatter art” stunt. Graham acquired 80 ketchup bottles, filled them with paint, and gathered the children in a circle. After a suspenseful countdown, the children gleefully splattered paint in all the colors of the rainbow over Graham, filling the air with laughter and excitement.
Covered from head to toe in vibrant paint, Graham continued the artistic frenzy with a Jackson Pollock-style spatter art session on 80 canvases, generously donated by Bali Art Supplies.
Art and Philanthropy Aligned with Hope Children’s Orphanage
For Graham Cullis, the convergence of art and philanthropy is a core principle. In the United Kingdom, he has founded a non-profit organization known as Youth Art Connect (www.youthartconnect.org), a mental health initiative that offers free therapeutic art sessions to both children and adults. Events like the one hosted at Hope Children’s Orphanage resonate profoundly with Graham’s mission to create a positive impact through art.
Fostering Awareness and Support for Hope Children’s Orphanage
Graham has also been a mentor to the orphanage, assisting them in crowdfunding efforts.
