Their skin is red-brown, shiny with overlapping scales, rough and thin – easy to peel like a tangerine. It is about the size of a ripe fig and grows on a palm tree near the tree‘s base.
Attention! The petals have long spines as if the tree would not give up its preciousness.
The snake fruit tastes sweet and sour, similar to a pear, lychee or jackfruit with a sensation in the mouth that makes everything contract but in a pleasant way.The pulp, divided into two to four segments, has a crunchy apple-like texture and is deliciously juicy.
