About me:
I’m a retired ‘busyness’ man from the UK, now living a mindful life in Bali. I’m an author and podcaster, rambling about all things psycho- spiritual, learning more every day about how little I know.
What inspired you to live and work in Bali?
Having lived the hectic, “successful” life of a high-functioning alcoholic adman in London, I craved a new and peaceful environment to support my newfound sobriety. Bali offered an absolute contrast to that. I’m five years sober this month and am grateful to this land and its people for their roles in my healing story.
How has your time in Bali changed my perspective on life?
Like so many lost souls gravitating towards this mystical place, my life has changed beyond expectations. My life changed drastically in Bali, where I found hope after a dark time. Now, I wake up grateful for every breath and the beauty around me.
What is your philosophy of life?
Well, now, that’s a big question! Simply put: learn to love, despite your separation. Love yourself. Separation from Self is common. You can read my new book (How To Die Happy) to better understand the complexities of my thinking
What is your favorite place in Bali?
Once, it was the Bukit peninsula, but the south has rapidly changed. Now, the mountains, forests, and waterfalls of Munduk are my go-to place for peace, solace, and a slower pace of life.
