It’s next to the Jasri Dalem Temple, an unspoiled spot of Bali where guests can get in touch with nature.

Pak Paul, as the local boys call him, provided food, shelter, school supplies, paid school fees and more for over 60 boys since the begining of Jasri Dalem Surf Retreat, many of whom have grown up and left to work and start families of their own.

It’s definitely the most popular one. If you are awake before sunrise, you can watch the sun kissing the new day right from your bed, watch the waves from the balcony and surf in your head or grab your surfboard and melt into the ocean in just a few seconds.

We love Oka – Our Friend from Jasri

“The most important thing in my life is to be mindful, honest and respectful with myself and others, trusting each other and always doing the best for each other.

Oka, 27 years old, was born and raised in Jasri Village, Karangasem

He is a surfer, a passionate tour guide and an expert on KarangasemLike most people in Bali, he is deeply connected to his place of origin and the people there. It is important to him that he not only satisfies his guests, but gives them an unforgettable experience.Which he did for us, he showed us this hidden nature spot, the Jasri Dalem Surf Retreat and even some special local places, where we got eyeballed by the people as clearly, they did not expect a “bule”/foreigner to come there. It was a really amazing experience, we felt super relaxed and had a fund time thanks to Oka.

How does he do it?

You have to find out for yourself – it‘s definitely worth it!

Oka says: “Bali is and always will be a paradise!

We Balinese treat nature and people with respect because we are connected to everything.

“That‘s how we grow up – it is our culture“.

I love my job as a tour guide, and I am allowed to represent my Island to people from all over the world. With the money that I earn as a tour guide, I can fulfil my dream, build a house for my whole family and support the other people in my village“.

Our friend travel host OKA is looking forward to show you his beautiful home.
