Delhi’s history is as old as the epic Mahabharata when the town was known as Indraprastha, home of the Pandavas.
Over the centuries, eight more cities emerged adjacent to Indraprastha: Lal Kot, Siri, Dinpanah, Quila Rai Pithora, Ferozabad, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad, and Shahjahanabad.
Many empires, including the Tughlaqs, the Khiljis, and the Mughals, rose to power and were destroyed here.

Respect local customs
Delhi’s cultural fabric is woven with traditions and customs. Dress modestly when visiting religious sites, and remove your shoes before entering temples and mosques. A polite greeting of “Namaste” is always appreciated.
At some places, they want you to enter the house bare-footed, in order to keep the dirt out of their house, please do so as well.
Connect with the locals. The people in central Delhi are more commercial than people in the villages. So, develop your sixth sense and assess the genuineness of an individual before trusting them and following their words.
The ability to differentiate between a genuine person and a fake one is what a traveller should aim for.
